Overview

Professional Services firm is seeking a Systems Administrator. 

The Systems Administrator works to ensure high levels of satisfaction with the firm’s technology. Areas of responsibility include laptop and other end user hardware and software, telecom systems, software implementation and maintenance, and system upgrades, both on premise and cloud based.

The Systems Administrator supports the Director of IT in accomplishing the following tasks and projects: software upgrades and enhancements, software implementations and rollouts to specific departments and practice areas, liaison role between vendors and users, software evaluation and purchasing recommendation, primary and backup ownership of multiple software applications and multi-tiered systems, and best practices in software installation & utilization.

  • Responsibilities:
    Coordinate System Administration with the sys admin team.
  • Provide technical support to the Helpdesk team, ensuring appropriate coverage and responsiveness to end users.
  • Provide second level support firm wide.
  • Responsible for testing, upgrading, implementing and deploying the latest versions of existing software or new software.
  • Subject Matter Expert for many of the Firm’s primary systems
  • Provide accurate and timely communications of issues and status.
  • Recommend solutions to business problems and assist in meeting business requirements.
  • Assist with short and long-range planning for the department.
  • Research, recommend and/or select and utilize appropriate technologies to meet the evolving needs of the firm.
  • Providing technical support to the Firm and its users to maximize productivity.
  • Specialized user training.
  • Firm wide rollouts and implementation of new software.
  • Maintenance of IT documentation.
  • Occasional after-hours support call escalation.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience, and 5+ years of current experience supporting users in a professional services environment.
  • Professional services experience highly desired.
  • Must be self-motivated, a fast learner, dedicated to producing quality work and shepherding assigned tasks and projects to completion.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues until resolved.
  • In depth knowledge of client/server & database application environments.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Networking, Active Directory Services, and Azure/M365.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server and AD Administration.
  • In depth understanding of Microsoft PC and Server software and technologies.
  • Must possess sound analytic abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, written and communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • $75K – $90K, based on experience.
